  • Patented angled surface lets you read measurements from above
  • Standard and metric markings
  • Soft, non-slip handle
  • Dishwasher safe
  • OXO products have a satisfaction guarantee

Smart enough to have made it onto a national TV morning show, this innovative design makes you wonder why it took someone this long to invent it! And that the people at OXO should be the ones will come as no surprise. As you pour into this measuring cup you don't have to scrunch down to eye level, or gingerly lift the cup to see if you've got the right amount. An angled inner rim with markings allows you to read the increments as you look down from the top.

A brilliant innovation, this 2-cup measuring vessel is not round but oval. That means calibrations are printed on the cup's sides, as is conventional, as well as on a patented guide inside the cup that's angled so it can be read from above. The result is that this cup doesn't have to be held up--or bent down to--in order to determine how much liquid it contains. While Oxo guarantees satisfaction with a money-back guarantee, there's no reason to return this product. It's better than any other measuring cup. Moreover, it has a slip-resistant handle for when hands are wet, and it's made of rugged, dishwasher-safe plastic, with calibrations in both standard measurements and metric. --Fred Brack

Willing to accept a trade off over Pyrex2010-07-274 / 5
I like the non-slip grip, and the inner measuring feature is pretty nifty. I've read some complaints that the plastic breaks more easily than Pyrex, but I'm very happy to make that trade off. I have a 9 month old at home, and I'm never buying Pyrex again due to my recent experience breaking a Pyrex piece. Read on if you're interested...

The only reason I bought it is because I dropped my Pyrex measuring cup (totally my fault), and it exploded into a million pieces. "Not a big deal" I thought, "I'll just sweep it up". BUT after I swept up all of the pieces I could see, I noticed that some of the dust on my hand felt and looked a little strange. When I got my hand into the proper light, I could see that some of the that dust was actually extremely tiny pieces of broken glass... literally not much bigger than specks of dust. Thank goodness I noticed before I wiped my face or my eyes! I really had no idea that breaking a piece of Pyrex would have pieces that were so incredibly tiny.

We spent hours wiping down our counters and floor with wet paper towels to pick up all of the tiny glass shards. I had to use a flashlight to find all of pieces since some were so tiny. Now I feel very paranoid about having missed some spots, since babies have the magical ability to find any and every dangerous thing in the house no matter how small.

Anyhow, I really don't mean this review to be a gripe about Pyrex. It's a great product, and clearly the vast majority of people have no problem with it. I've never had a problem with it before either. BUT, there is that small element of added risk. I wouldn't have had a problem with some broken pieces and a few shards, but the sandy, dusty sized pieces are so incredibly small, that it's impossible to clean up everything. And considering that I'd literally step in front of a bus for my kid; it's not such a big deal for me to switch to a (possibly) less durable plastic product.
Good idea, breaks easily2010-07-041 / 5
Like many other reviewers, mine developed a crack after a couple of months of relatively easy use.
An Easy Way to Measure a Miniscus2010-06-035 / 5
I bought two sets of all three sizes. I love them and wish Oxo made an 8-qt. These are fabulous--light weight and accurate.
4-cup angled measuring cup2010-05-195 / 5
This measuring cup is really delightful. You can actually look down into the cup to read the markings...you don't have to pick the thing up and hold it at eye level.
My kids love it, and use it all the time in the kitchen. Only one drawback...if you buy several sizes they don't nest for storage. But that inconvenience is worth it, every time I use it.
MEASURING is a dream, but POURING is a nightmare2010-05-063 / 5
Love the fact that you can see DOWN onto the levels in the cup... but the flat "spout" (as many have pointed out here) is a severe design flaw. If you have under 4-cups, you can overcome this shortcoming by pouring very, very slowly. Yes, it's annoying, but it works. However, if you have gone crazy (!) and filled it above the 4-cup line (which you can, easily), then you ARE going to spill. Period.
