| I'm 36 and while I'm not looking to be a professional musician, I'd like to learn how to play a violin as a hobby. After reading reviews, I decided on the ABC series to learn. Within a week I can already tune my violin, play scales, and even play Ode To Joy from Beethoven. The immediate feeling that I acheived something really inspires me to learn and play more. The DVD is also a nice compliment to the book. Now I can't wait to finish the beginner book and start with the intermediate! |

| I am a fair intermediate cellist, but I have never attempted to play a violin. The book appears to fit the requirements perfectly. I have a borrowed violin, and the explanations seem clear and well designed. The rest is up to me! |

| This is good but if you are a "brand new" beginner you will need both the book and the DVD. They actually should be sold as a set. I would buy them again. |
